Lovely Murano bird and a not Murano dish - ID probably = Chalet
(1/1)
shanbeat:
Not entirely sure if this is murano...there are entirely too many different kinds of art glass out there! If it is murano, I'm thinking it might be contemporary, but have no idea what the style of bowl it is. Value ideas anyone?

Also, I got this wonderful little bird at the same time, only paid $6.00 for the little guy. Has a Murano sticker on him (second photo).

Hi,
The bowl doesn't look Italian. The pretty bird is from Murano, but contemporary. These are sold today at gift shops.
Ivo:
Missed this one before but it is almost certainly Chalet Art Glass

Hi Shanbeat
I don't think your bowl is Murano. I toyed with it being Czech for a while, but there's a distinct possibility IMHO that it's Chalet Glass, especially since that's Canadian glass. I haven't seen that style before, but I know they made ashtrays, and yours has the 'pushed up sides' (am I right? Hard to tell from your photo) that some of their pieces have + it looks well made.
