Hi,  Talking of things bought in Woolworths, my Mum bought herself a blue Walther Greta vase back in the early 50s from Woolworths here in Norwich. (she never knew what it was until I started collecting glass myself) Look how much some of those are making now. Its always puzzled me what a 1930s vase was doing for sale in Woolies in the 50s.   Cheryl

Anne:
Maybe old stock stored from before the war and brought out afterwards for clearance?

buttonfluff:
I have heard of woolies selling bits that were later collectable and good brands too (my dad told me)

Lustrousstone:
I think a fair amount of glass was specially made for Woolworths too. The Greta vases were probably made post War by VEB Saschenglas http://www.glas-musterbuch.de/VEB-Sachsenglas-1965.73.0.html
