A little Deco vase with an unusual rim.
« on: October 03, 2009, 03:27:29 PM »
Hi

Just wondering if anyone has info relating to this little 6" Deco style vase?  The rim, as my picture describes, is quite unusual.

TIA
Stu.

Thanks again Anne!  Grateful, as ever, am I.

Anne - does yours have "Celery" etched into it?  Mine does.  What sized celery would that be?!

No it doesn't Stu. Christine explains about the celery mark here:

You may not believe it, but I knew that about the celery.   :)

What a nice piece of social history though, and thanks for the link.

There is something I really don't like about the rim... can't get used to it.  I think it can live in one of my desk drawers for now.   :)

Hi Stu, the rim is very much Walther KOPENHAGEN ... just an idea  :)

...and if you really do not like it, I'd wish to buy it from you - if possible?
For better and further investigation I often need to touch things  ;D

Pamela!

After all of the wonderful help you're site has been to me, you can have it for free.  Just let me know the address to send to and I will get it posted off to you, with pleasure.

I had thought it resembled the rim of Kopenhagen too, and also thought that the lower half was rather like Trafalgar.

Stu. :)
