The 'West Country' refers to the South West part of England, which of course is
east of our location here in South Wales

Some Welsh people (many more a hundred years ago) regard the English in a similar way that I guess the Czech peoples considered their Soviet occupiers, it is not that long ago that use of the Welsh language was punished and Welsh culture suppressed. There are still plenty of prejudices amongst the English in relation to Welsh people, backward, untrustworthy, etc. I could argue that the English mongrel culture and language is second rate compared to the
very much older lyrical Welsh language and traditions, but I can't be bothered as life is far too short.
