I wonder if it's a child's version? I've seen smaller ceramic ones for children too.

Hi Anne, I think you are right ..perhaps larger adult versions were not made because of the lack of strength in glass ...wouldn't want to sit on one...but I wouldn't anyway 'cus I'm a bloke  :-[

But Mike, there are times when even "blokes" have to sit down!  ;)

I'm still struggling with the concept of a glass chamber pot. Imagine .... no, on second thoughts, don't. :P

Paul suggests it would be useful in Customs. Excuse his sense of humour. He's Scottish.

Mike , Anne et al — I'm certain it is adult-sized.   I don't think they sat on them.

Just for the records ...this little pots' capacity is approx . 750ml or approx 1.5 pints. The maximum capacity of an adult bladder being approx 500ml... so thanks to all for solving this little mystery ! :chky:

I would say it's for children and supplied especially to hospitals or alike.
I've got one that is even marked 'SCHNELLSICHT' which translates 'quick visibility'

http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/misc/07623.html (unknown maker's mark too)

Experience teaches that anyone who begins to collect in any field can feel a change in his soul. He becomes a joyful man filled with a deeper empathy, and a more open understanding moves his soul.
