Topic: ZBS, but recent? early? designer?

I really like this smallish 8" vase. I think it's alexandrite, but I haven't been able to create a radical colour shift yet. It's oval, with a channel running down both the broader sides. The depressed sections are satinized, by acid I think, but perhaps by sandblasting. The base is flat and polished as expected, but with very little wear. It has a partial ZBS label, which looks to me to be an older, pre Czech Republic one. I haven't been able to find any references to it. Any information, particularly designer, much appreciated.

Hi David,
the label is shown in Mark Hills book, it says Zelezny Brod, 1950s-60s.
The vase is not in the book.

Jindrich:  Thanks for the designer's name. I think I get what you mean by "not subject for hot cooked paperback." Maybe a cold cooked one will tell. Do you think it's old or new?

I cannot help you for the moment with this issue David.  I will try to find more in future, I also have two simmilar pieces at home.
Absolutely sure is that it is not produced now, becouse ZBS died last year.

Thanks. As Andy wrote, Mark Hill has the label as 50's-60's, but labels are not always the most reliable indicator. The vase is well made, and, despite the lack of wear on the base, I've got the feeling it's an old one.

Very true, David.
However, as Jindrich says, this label does look old, is old, as background colour was changed 1970s to a light metallic blue. Same logo, and shape. This then changed again following 1992, and shape of label was altered.
