That is indeed a GREAT blue vase. I'm envious.
I think it also serves to prove the point that has been made - that a number of designers did produce forms for Harrtil. I'm almost sure I've seen this vase without the inclusion of the characteristic Harrtil net, and think the form was attributed to Maria Stahlíková, Milena Velísková, or even Ludvika Smrckova, but more probably one one of the first two. I don't have my copy to hand, but if it's not in Raban's 'Modern Bohemian Glass', then it's certainly in Czech Glass Review somewhere. With a blooming great flower sticking out of the top, if memory serves me right...
I'm sure someone with a copy to hand can prove or disprove this thought...

I suppose that  we Czechs will never be able to thank Mr. Marcus Newhall and Mr. Mark Hill properly for the popularisation oc Czech glass. They will not get any horse rider's statue at Wenceslas sqaure, but they shoud be appreciated with small dwart one in Knizak's gallery.  

Stop joking, Newhall and Hill - two English man are teaching Czechs about their glass treausures? And finaly the man from Aussie?  >:J.

Jindrich - It just dawned on me that I have a friend who goes to Czechoslovakia every year or two. Is it possible to still pick up some of this glass there and where would he look. His family are from there and he speaks the language?

Thank you very much, Mark. I'm tempted to put a sign on the vase, "Admired by Mark Hill," but I don't have enough friends who know anything about glass. Of course, can you ever have enough friends who know anything about glass?

I agree with you about the design as I'm sure I've seen or seen a picture of this vase without the fabric in it. I also know one of my Harrtil pieces exists as as plain glass ashtray.
