Glass vase with rain drop effect
« on: November 14, 2009, 02:49:16 PM »
Hi, does anyone have an idea as to age and maker on this little vase?  4 -5 inches in height.  I found a similar mark on a Bohemian label in Ivo's book but it doesn't t look quite the same to me.

The finish looks a little like on my Galaxy vases by Miloslava Svobodova but they were not marked , maybe Jindrich will know .

We've discussed the three candles marks before on the board, Gill, but we've not managed to find out who used it yet. Earlier topics (in case they are useful) are here:

I was going to suggest the finish looks like Galaxy as well, although the shape doesn't fit in. The marking on the bottom reminds me of a stylized version the Chribska label, a boat with four masts.

Gil,
I'm pretty sure this is made for the partylite company ( if you google image partylite you should see plenty of examples of their logo on some of their tea light holders ) They market a vast range of products, mostly candle themed and i'm thinking it may have been made fairly recently.
Cheers, David

I somehow like it although it bears a certain resemblance to the plant

Yes, I had a look and it certainly seems likely that this is the Party Lite mark.  Well done if it is David, it seems this mark has puzzled a few people.  I like it too, the rain drop effect is really good in the flesh, I see what you mean about, Little Shop of Horrors though.
