Looking very much like Rindskopf, can find very little on Schliersee glass, tried to get a better picture but it's so dark today all I could get was a close up of the surface decoration,Keith.

The shape of the vase also seemed to be very much like Rindskopf to me, but the base reminded me more of a Kralik-like piece. I would not have thought of pepita or a variant -- looks very different to me.

You pick up some interesting pieces, Keith. Very pretty vase.

The closeup  makes me back off of a Pepita variant a little, but I would really need to see it in natural light to see the true color variation.  The strongest indicator of Rindskopf is the shape......  I would still like to see images in bright natural light.

Isn't that what they always say..... Mine says it too....     >:D >:D >:D >:D

no, there aren't a lot of examples of schliersee on the web but there are a few of them in the PMC. they are very similar to this in both decoration and iridescence. none with the exact same coloring but there are only 6 or 7 examples which does not even begin to encompass what their output must have been. i'd be willing to bet that there is a lot of misidentified Schliersee out there just because they were not that well documented (apparently)

not saying that this IS Schliersee, not enough examples to know for sure, just that there is definitely more of it out there than is identified as such.

Hi Keith. The picture confirms what I believed would be the color transition in the vase. I am now pretty confident that the vase is darker variant of Rindksopf Pepita.  I went through my picture archives and found a series of photos that confirmed my suspicion.

Vase R3 - I have an image of a vase with the same basic form as yours, (a little difference in the base form, but that is not uncommon) and with a distinctive surface pattern. It is also the same basic coloration but has no enamel work.

Vase R1 - I have an image of a R Pepita with the surface pattern of #3

Vase R2 - I have a picture of a R Pepita in the same form as yours with no surface pattern.

Your vase is the same shape as R2 and R3 and has similar coloration as R3 which has the Rindskopf surface pattern.

The images I have are from the internet so I can not post them here, but would be glad to send you the comparison photo I created with images and text which visually, makes the identification quite apparent.  If you would like to see a copy, email me direct using the email icon to the left and I will respond with a copy of the image.
