Gunther Lambert Cavallini Vase
« on: December 01, 2009, 10:31:11 PM »
Today I saw a pair of Gunther Lambert Cavallini Vases like these but in purple (like my Dartington Studio vase colour) rather than the red shown on here: http://www.studio-wohnkultur.de/accessoires/glasvasen/cavallinivase.php. One vase was clearly signed Gunther Lambert, the other had a big label on the base so may or may not have been signed.

In an early topic started by Martyn K we established that Gunther Lambert are a German retailer: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,19326.0.html so the glass could be made anywhere.

The question is, does anyone know where these Cavallini vases were made and by whom please?
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd

click on Public Area to see the current collection of battuti, satinati, soffiati and other pieces. This is the company founded 10 years ago by Laura de Santillana, after she left Venini. They specialise in surface techniques and have now expanded into furniture and concepts - which is a bit confusing...  In any case, they are at the root of the popularity of satinated clear cased mechanically textured vases - which are now also offered from <Poland, India, China, Romania, Ikea - your pet hate here?>  albeit in a much lower quality.  I was under the impression the Lambert glass was sourced directly from Arcade.

Ahhh I see, thanks Ivo. I did click the Public Area before but it didn't load anything for me - perhaps the site was having a glitch - but it's loaded for me now. I'll go have a mooch around there.
