Walther Rauchtopas smoky colour glass
« on: December 04, 2009, 02:30:26 PM »
Hello!
Has anyone ever seen any Walther figures in the smoky rauchtopas glass? I have seen the sonnenfische set and Luxor vase in this colour.
I just wondered as I have just bought a smoky part frosted essen bowl and thought maybe there were figures in this colour?
Any input would be very helpful please.
Thanks as always Nige

Never seen any figures in this colour, though I do have a relief vase in rauchtopas. I've also seen the Juno bowl in this colourway. Maybe Pamela will know more....

I have got this http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/vasen/08665.html HARALD from Sue in rauchtopas http://www.black-poppy.co.uk/mc/walther/Dscn0259.jpg

And, if even Black-Poppy hasn't at least an image of a figurine... I would tend to 'was not produced'  ;D

Walther 1936 catalogue mainly just offers figurines in rosé, blue and green, some, if not green in 'goldgelb' (golden yellow, light amber)

Post-war catalogues indicate no colours at all, as far as I can see.

Nige, if I were you, I'd match the earthen tone with a white Walther 'Schwalben' if there is at all - I think white is rare also  :-\
