Royal Brierley Studio topic

keith:
More information found today, early on Mark Hill spoke about a vase produced by the Harris family in 1986, the dark iridescent 'gold' on blue/ purple colourway is called 'shadow' range. It now appears the 'Studio' range was started before this date with most of the designs by glass artist Gwyneth Newland ( now Ashcroft ) the research continues and there may be an exhibition of Royal Brierley Studio glass at the motorcycle museum this coming November, thanks to Mr Benson, ;D ;D if I can get organised  :o ::) ;D

Gowdod:
Dear All,

I thought it was time to potentially add to the RB Studio parade.  :D

I have a number of pieces and add to them when I can. This one I've not seen before hence thought I share it.

So here goes, unsigned, 10cm tall, unusual shape however the colourway is fab. My eyes say a light mauve through to a light lilac ( thinned out ) graduated from top to bottom with a good surface finish at the top again thinning out and minimising to the base. Same base and top finishes to my other pieces.

Happy days.

With kind regards

Andrew

--- Quote from: keith on March 17, 2016, 08:35:12 PM ---Can now add a little more , it seems RB'y produced more than I thought, with thanks to David for putting me in touch with Charles Hajdamach who sent me images from a catalogue that shows they produced a dressing table set and a number of table lamps, seven new shapes in all and now have names for a number of pieces. Today I got a standard vase  that came with a box and small leaflet advertising the 'Samba' range ( see image ) of which this is one of 14 ! including a carafe, bowls, bud vases and wine glasses, it seems I have a way to go to get them all !  ::) ;D ;D

Keith, could you please tell me about the dressing table set mentioned above?  I would like to add details to GTS. Ta!

keith:
Will do Anne,
In response to Andrew's post I'm afraid your vase is Heron glass not RB'y, sorry,  ;D

Gowdod:
Keith,

fiendish clever these glass guys.

I'll stick with signature pieces in future.  ;D

Thanks as always.

With kind regards

Andrew
