Topic: Rectangular brick vases - ruby and green

My eye was caught by these specimens a couple of weeks ago and I've been unable to identify them so far.  From previous threads I thought maybe Royal Krona, or maybe Exbor, but the bases on mine are quite distinctive - hollowed out slightly, like a brick, and it doesn't seem like the same quality as Exbor.  Anyone got any ideas?

The green one is 8" tall x2.5" deep x almost 5" wide (20.3 cm x 6.5 cm x 12.5 cm).  Ruby one is 6" tall (15 cm), other dimensions the same. Ruby one is actually heavier at nearly 1.2 kg.  The ruby one is a little darker than the photos show, closer to Whitefriars ruby colour.
The tops have been cut and not polished.   There is a little wear to the bases  but not much.  Hope they're not Chinese.....

I think these are currently retailing in Asda.

I like them  especially the green.  And as long as you didn't pay more than the Asda price for them I guess, then they were a good buy (if you bought them cos you liked them of course).

Oh yes, I do like them, but it's interesting how context affects perception.  If I had seen these in ASDA I'd probably not have given them a second glance, but seeing them, all covered in dust at the bottom of a big box of glass at an auction just starts me off!  So part of the attraction for me is the thrill of the hunt, trying to track down whoever made them, hoping I've found something no one else has spotted.  Oh well, in effect they didn't cost me anything and now my curiosity has been satisfied, (even if I feel a little foolish) and they will find a place on my shelves.  They might even have flowers put in them!
