Blue Cockatoo Flower Frog + Bowl
« on: December 07, 2009, 10:37:42 AM »
Hi all

I've seen and been told that this bowl is made by Brockwitz, but am not sure about the flower frog. This cockatoo frog has the similar "holly" pattern as on the bowl. They seem to match perfectly

Therefore, is this cockatoo flower frog also made by Brockwitz?

Any comments are much appreciated.

Cheers
Brenton

Hi Brenton,
Nige just questioned a pink cockatoo on GMB market place - see  here:

Apologies for not telling you earlier that I've tried without success - it does not really fit  :'(

Hi Pamela

Thanks for your comment.

The other day I went to a shop and I saw the same figure in amber sitting on another Brockwitz bowl - the one you had numbered "01130".....this time apart from the set, it was sold alongside with 2 brockwitz cockatoo vases as garniture vases.... Nearly bought it, but too expensive :)

Cheers
Brenton

Vases are by far too small and more oval shaped.

http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/schalen/01130.html is a possibility, however a bit wobbly, else than expected to fit if Brockwitz-made.

http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/tafelaufsaetze/07237.html : my bird also has not got holly leaves and the background is another texture/structure.

I'm not definitely ruling out Brockwitz anymore, but still investigating for a better match.

Thanks a lot anyhow!
