Brockwitz pink glass cockatoo? ID = Brockwitz "Kakadu"
« on: December 20, 2009, 09:00:59 PM »
Hello everyone
I have bought today a rather large pink glass flower frog of a large cockatoo bird,Sorry I dont have photos yet but my camera is not around at the moment.I wondered if it was Brockwitz as it has a flower and leaf design around the base.
Does anyone have an idea please?
Many thanks Nige

Hi Nige,
Brenton´s been asking the same question recently. Unfortunately no reply yet.

Or is it another one you have?

Dirk

If it is this one too: I have tried it with all my Brockwitz bowls, after Brenton had asked - I would say no, not Brockwitz. The flower and leaf details do not correspond to any Brockwitz and the 'texture' seems different.

Crown? Someone downunder have a look please?

Kind Mods: Should this thread be linked to Brenton's ?  :D

Hi Dirk and Pamela
I hadn't seen the other link wow what a coincidence! I have seen this frog in green on ebay a while ago.The holly design does look familiar to me for some reason but I can't think why?
I think also I put this post in the wrong section but only realised after pressing post topic! How dim of me!
Thanks!

Hi Nigel.

Nice find :)

And Pamela, I wouldn't think this flower frog is made by Crown Crystal. As far as I'm concerned :)

cheers
Brenton

I haven't found any evidence that it was made by Crown either. It doesn't appear in the catalogues or ads. It's unlikely to fall into the holes not covered by the documented pieces either as the blue is wrong, and it's probably too complex.
