Maltese Glass bottle c1978 with label
« on: January 02, 2010, 03:52:47 PM »
 :rn:
Having lunch at the parents over Xmas, my Dad found this bottle in the cupboard, half empty!
We realised it was from their Maltese holiday in 1977 or 1978, they stayed in the old walled
town of Mdina, and got this on the way home!
They bought a brown fish vase (in picture)from the Studio which i found hidden in a drawer about 8 years ago,
I didnt know what it was, but always liked glass, so they gave it to me. Which really got me to where
i am today, with a houseful of the stuff ;D
I told them i was going to tell the story of keeping a half drunk bottle in the cupboard for 30 years!
Its drinkable, but not good,so this is one piece of Maltese glass that is off to the dustbin :rn:

Have a fun year everyone,
Andy

Hi Andy - had a nosey through the pics, the squirrel (furry one) is fab!!  Don't think I'd trust my guinea pigs with my glass though, they're very clumsy.

I liked the two stoppered bottles - http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?album=249&pos=28
One looks to be IOWSG Seaward, is this the base shot? - http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?album=268&pos=6

My glass passion is early Mdina and early IOWSG, and a smattering of Gozo. My collection is not huge but I'm learning a great deal, thanks to Mark Hill's book and Sue M of course! That's what I love about the forums, the generosity of others with their knowledge is so helpful.

I'm looking forward to seeing some more of your pics, it's almost as good as getting my hands on the glass - almost.

Suzy xxx
