Could I add that no mould seams does not mean something isn't moulded. Any bits which stick out can be polished off. Generally speaking it's a sign of quality if somebody has taken the time and trouble to do this.

Press moulded and well finished - no fancy procedures like lost wax or cooked powder (sorry pâte). Obviously a quality producer.  I would not discard the Americans offhand.
