GLASS FRUIT BOWL - LONG STEMMED
« on: January 11, 2010, 11:10:44 PM »
Unknown origin.  The top of the bowl measures 19.5cm in diameter.  The overall height is 19.2cm.  Stem measures 6cm in height.  The base is 13cm diameter.  The outside of the bowl is smooth and curves within the texture can be felt.  The inside of the bowl is very textured with diagonal lines forming diamonds.  When held up to light, displays an array of magnifying effects.  The pontol at the base is convexed as appose to concave which is normally seen on other items.  Looking directly into the centre of the bowl you can see into the stem.  The bowl is definately a blown item. Even though this is a large fruit bowl it is light in weight indicating the probable age.  I hope the information provided is sufficient to provide any information regarding it's origin and value.  I look forward to your comments.  I have attached as much pictures in order to assist.

If it's not American, it's probably Italian and 1960s/70/80s

Thanks! Lustrousstone.  I will look into that.  It is a lovely bowl but unfortunately not my sort of colour, however, would look nice in the right home.
