Pressed glass vase France question please
« on: January 16, 2010, 07:30:08 PM »
Can anyone give me a list of French pressed glass makers to search for.
I have a vase marked France on the bottom.
I am pretty sure it's not Lalique btw  ;D

I would just like to do a bit more hunting on my own before posting a pic in desperation ::)

many thanks for any ideas
m
p.s. it may be fairly new for all I know ::)  Oh and it's completely clear although patterned, but no frosting or satin effect.

I haven't given up completely ::) but needle and haystack come to mind  ;D
It is 24.5cm high by 13.5cm wide and weighs about 2lb.  The rim is 6mm thick
and the relief on the leaves etc another 10mm ish on top of that.

Hiya,

I think this is Arcoroc/Cristal d'Arques/J. G. Durand.

thanks Della  :)
I have just been searching those this evening - needle and haystack about right then  ;D
Just in case anyone else searches later, there is a microscopic no 2 impressed on the base as well as two Ls as in 'LL' very close together.

thanks again

Hi M,

Just so that you know, the companies named in my previous post are all part of the same conglomerate.
Ivo (not seen him around for a while???  :kissy: ) will hopefully happen along and back up my thoughts. If anyone knows, he will.

Thanks for your help Della, I appreciate it.

I have also read through all previous posts on a search of 'France pressed' and come across Ivo's posts where he points out that they manufacture millions of items a day   :o   but....never one to be defeated, I carried on searching :spls: just in case, y'know  that one vase might actually appear on google  ;D

Funnily enough I really like this vase.  I saw it a while ago and didn't get it, then decided to go back for it.  It will look fantastic with flowers in and is a perfect shape.
