Unusual Carafe

Any ideas at all on this quirky carafe? It is 9 3/4" high and has a ground pontil.  the middle isnt actually a hole but the two sides of glass brought together.

Any information gratefully appreciated   ;D

The design is Skruf, Sweden and still in current production -  - but they have also been made in Italy.
