Castle Shaped Clear Vase?
« on: February 19, 2010, 07:41:21 PM »
This Vase was purchased from a Charity shop in Catford.  The vase measures 17.5cm in height.  The top dia. 13cm dia.  The vase is supported by four legs that are 2 cm thick and then tapers as it meets toward the vase body itself.  There are four lines running from top to bottom of the vase and equally spaced. There are a few small bubbles within the vase.  The vase is quite heavy considering it's size.  I have searched but unable to identify this particular piece.  Can anyone assist. by providing the originator and age.  Many thanks!

Hi Ann, thanks for you info.  It certainly does look like the one I have posted.  The only difference is the pattern near to the top of the vase is different.  I have looked at other sites but still unable to find one with the same pattern.  From the look of the picture you have suggested I would say it is definately Sowerby.  Would you know how old they are?

I think yours looks slightly different to Anne's because it is quite a lot larger.

Do you think it still would be Sowerby Christine as Anne has suggested?

No, I think it's the same size... 17cm translates roughly to 7", which is the height of the F2583. Maybe the difference Christine sees is the perspective - Anne's vase is photographed more side on, whereas Otis' is more from the top.
