Large glass container

Can anyone identify this item. It is 21 cm dia and 16 cm high and has a polished concave pontil.
The glass is fawn coloured with white flecks all over the glass. the opening is 2.5 cm. There is a brown banding around the body.

Not a clue, really! Attractive thing - would make a nice lamp base.
I pretty sure though, I've seen very similar items in TKMaxx - either with Polish or Chinese labels on them...

You do get some very nice decorative pieces there. I try to go when I can, simply to keep an eye on things - they keep turning up in secondary market places........ it's as well to know what's happening. I may be completely off the mark here.
