Tony H:
Hi Guys Please take a look here http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/thumbnails.php?album=797 two photos of a small crystal two piece lamp made by Crown Crystal Glass.
On Cathy B web site there is a very good history of this glass my piece is approx 6" (sorry not sure all packed away we have had a new carpet fitted so all glass was moved it does bounce very well) my piece has the grimwades name on it.
On the base it a opening for a electric cable? not sure would have had to be a very small bulb, has anyone seen this with fittings

Cathy B:
I can't find your lamp in the catalogues, although it looks to have the same blank as No. 72 but a simpler cut pattern. Mine (shown below) is described as a No. 7 all glass 10" dressing table lamp (in a catalogue from September 1934). The dimensions for the No. 72 are not mentioned.
On mine, the hole is for an electric cable, as you can see. I would assume yours would be too, but 6" does sound very small. Are you certain that dimension is correct?
PS excuse the horrible pictures!-I opted for speed over beauty.
Tony H:
Hi Cathy
I will dig it today and give more details is your catalogue for Grimwade or Crown crystal

You probably can find electrical fittings that will fit from an electrical supplier. Many years ago I made this lamp, it was not difficult to find the small fittings and bulb needed. The bulb is 5cm long and 2cm in diameter (2 inches and less than 1) and normally used in microwave ovens. These days there is probably more choice with the availability of LED lights.
