This is a fascinating vase, Pamela. I have not seen it before and it is intriguing. The iridescence appears to be top notch.

The fan motif (I can't think of a better way to describe it right now) in the horizontal panels reminds me of a Riihimaki pattern that is seen in bowls and stemmed comports. But the vase is not in any of the Riihimaki catalogues that I have. That doesn't rule out Riihimaki, of course - it's just that the vase is not shown in the catalogues that I have.

Poland is also possibility (Hortensja would be my guess) but again, it's not in the catalogue that I have.

Is it possible to see what the base of the vase looks like? And can you tell us if it has an "Inwald-like" mirror shiny grind on the base (although I really don't think the pattern is an Inwald one - but I would want to eliminate that maker from the enquiry).

Has anyone seen this vase in any other type of glass - or better still, in a catalogue?

I'm glad I did no longer search on my own  :pb:

All the photos submitted came from Karrasburg - but, as we had definitely ruled out Brockwitz, gladly this vase is now here with me and I take some more images as requested.

It's always better to touch and handle the glass, and Riihimäki and even Schreiber / Hortensja were my possible thoughts also...

Here are a couple of images of the "Katherine" plate that I mentioned above (Riihimaki's 7259 in amber). The pattern reminds me of the horizontal motif in Pamela's vase.

Many thanks for those extra images, Pamela. It helps a lot. The base colour of the glass looks as if it may be amber and not clear (crystal). If it is amber, then that is a HUGE tick in the box for Riihimaki. The entire pattern concept of the vase says "Riihimaki" too.
