Any comments on ths vase will be appreciated! The handles are, in fact, dark blue.

This elliptic blue decoration is traditionally used in Bavaria and can still be found on recent output.
Unfortunately I don´t know, if it´s exclusive to this region. But I´d agree with Christine, that it
looks fairly modern.

100% Lafiore or Gordiola who both make the same pattern with this decoration. If the pontil looks as if it was finished on a stone, it is Lafiore. If it was snapped off, it would be Gordiola.

The pontil looks like it has been finished with a stone, so Lafiore? Did you visit the factory?

Thanks so much Ivo  :kissy:

Did you visit the factory?

Yes was there over easter, it was an eye opener. They had a strict "no photographs" policy and had no documentation at all - not sure what they were afraid of.  I was amazed to find they did slump glass, and occasional visiting artists to make unica. Nice ones even - but not cheap.
I had to turn over a few dozen pieces in the shop to see the finish - all had the same rough stone finish. I did the same at Gordiola and they use snap off or in some cases raspberry prunts. So Lafiore it is....

Well it was about to go into the car bootie - but I will keep it now. I lived in Mainland Spain for a while so I will keep it as a Spanish momento. I have had a look at their website and seen some of the slump glass - Thanks again Ivo!
