Pamela, thanks very much for the information. I understand what you are saying now. I really do appreciate it.

Anne, I'm really sorry for the large pictures. I must learn how to make them smaller and remember to do that before I add them. If you did want to make them smaller feel free.

Mosquito, sorry I didn't realise I was being watched. I have added the acknowledgement now, it was very helpful thank you.

John, many thanks for the link!

Hi friends,
I am afraid I have to inform you that this piece (and also many "Schlevogt" designs) had been copied and manfuactured in Czech republic quite recently. This "princess decanter" was quite popular shape few years ago. The guidance is - look at the pressing quallity - when poor so its is surely recent fake.

Jindrich, thanks a lot for confirming Steven's and my thoughts - very much appreciated!  :kissy:

Can you find the measurements of an original somewhere in your files, please?

I am afraid, I cannot help you Pamela, I have two "Prinzessin" sets (in clear and malachite green) but both are fakes. In fact, I have no evidence about original Schlevogt pieces of this type. Perhaps Mr. Nový from Jablonec museum will be able to give you correct answer (http://www.msb-jablonec.cz/kontakt/). I would like to help you but I am too busy to promise it. But I will keep it in my files.

Further information found  :)
Looked at this catalogue again today:

http://www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de/archiv/pdf/pk-2007-4w-02-mb-weil-1970.pdf

I do not know whether the date '1970' is correct, however obviously Glassexport exported these items to USA also.

A 'Prinzessin' is offered by this US wholesaler, pattern # 719, height indicated 6¼" which is approx. 155 mms and matches my smaller white decanter.
