ID a Large bowl and vase
« on: April 18, 2010, 05:22:45 PM »
Hello,

So far I have gotten some great info on my request. I appreciate the quick responses and the expertise this forum offers. I purchased this large bowl and vase at an auction recently and cannot find much on them. Can anyone identify this glass? Maybe age value and pattern? The vase is 11 - 12" high. The bowl is 18" across its furthest point. Thanks.

Hi gsween.
Best to post each item in a separate post, even if they do look all the same, or same color.  I am not sure where you are from, but I am just guessing here .....might they be Chalet glass??

We also need base shots. All pix are much better taken against a plain background.

Czechoslovakian is also a possibility. This query might do better in the main Glass section. We could move the thread there if you like.

Yes, that would be great if you could move this to the other topic.

Thanks.

Thanks antiquerose123. I will check out those sites. I am keeping the bowl but selling the vase. Trying to get a fair value on it.  :)

Hi: If it were Chalet, it would most likely be marked as such (a sandblasted 'Chalet' on the bottom). It doesn't look like Chalet or Lorraine to me. They're more likelyy to be Czech. Be a little wary of the Michel Blais site. What he has identified as C151 is definitely Harrachov, and I'm quite sure there are some other Czech pieces on there, too.
