Topic: Very Striking Glass KITTY - ID = Made in China

Hi there:  I also bought this today.  It is very, very heavy.  About 8.5 inches tall, 3 inches wide, and to tail (measured across) it is about 4.50 inches across to tail.  I find him to be very striking colors, and I like the way the spots (?) catch your eye.  He has a home here with my other (glass) kitties, and (real) kitty  

I like it, but have no idea who made him.  Obviously, it had a label - and all I can say was that it was *square shaped* which does not help us much....

Could he be Chalet? Altla Glass? Murano? ...or (hopefully not) Chinese?

ive got a feeling it may be chinese, they do something very similar over here in the UK charity shops, mainly the british heart foundation charity shop, who do a brand new range of glass, all of which is chinese import made to look very similar to Murano glass. some of it is very nice.

I still like it, and I always thought that Chinese glass had a less of a weight (cheaper imitation) - this piece is very, very heavy.  Not that that matters at all.

Some of the Chinese pieces I've seen in the BHF shops and in TKMaxx have been seriously heavy, Rose. So much so I've struggled to lift some of them!

I love your kitty though, wherever he was made - he's just so nice!

if you like it thats all that matters, ive got pieces that cost hundreds and pieces that cost pence and i love them all, prime example my IOW blue swirl charger, my most expensive purchase and a little glass mole which cost me about 50p are my 2 favourite pieces and if it came to saving just one in a fire i would have to think twice (although it would be the charger, i would cry for the mole  ).
 I will say i may be completly wrong though and it may not be chinese at all

Rose, I saw several giraffes in this same style and colouring yesterday. They were being sold new in a charity shop so I'd guess they are Chinese production as was suspected.  They were incredibly heavy but really nice!

Looks like this MYSTERY here on this ONE -- is totally solved, and all were Right.  MOD can ADD that to the Title if they wish....
