Any ID clues on this bowl please?
« on: April 22, 2010, 05:41:08 PM »
When I got this it was absolutely filthy but it washed up really nicely. Of course under the dirt and grime I had hoped to find a Mary Gregory figure but alas not to be. The design is paint not etching. Underneath, which I have photographed, is a raised pontil, clear and not an opaque one as it appears in the photo. Tantalisingly there is a mark underneath which has proved impossible to catch on camera and which is badly worn. It looks like the S on Stuart but I didn't think that could be right. The rest just looks like bits of a signature that can't be read. Five inches high and similar across. Any ideas, anyone?
