animal farm question (well, it does say that on the search parameters):)

Paul S.:
Max - thanks for checking the wfrs. catalogue  -  I hadn't even realized that a clear 'on the water' shaped duck existed - but you're right it would have been nice had it been the right one.    Believe Patrick Hogan comments that the rare example is 6 inches long  -  my duck is only 5 inches, and is of course unmarked, and with a flat bottom.     Do you know if anyone has yet found an example of the real thing, or are we all still looking??
Anita - no need for apologies, my post wasn't too serious, the mistake was mine, and I should have make it more clear which duck I was speaking of.
I have inlcuded a couple more pictures, more out of interest really, but as you say, it can be impossible to id a lot of these creatures unless they have labels or backstamps.
thanks again for your interest.

Cathy B:
I have the same duck in blue. It looks & feels brand new.

Paul S.:
thanks Cathy  -  really do appreciate you taking the time to reply.   Just my luck that the clear duck seems to be modern, although I hadn't held out much hope of it being something rare or valuable, but you never know  -  the dread is that one day I will leave someting on the vendors stall, and get home just to discover is was very desireable.    Paul S.

Cathy B:
What I wasn't wanting to admit was that I bought mine on the very slender chance it was the duck Max linked to - even pretty much knowing it wasn't, I had to spend the $5 just in case.  :24:

Anik R:
Uh, Paul???  I thought you told me you don't 'do' glass animals as they're too 'girlie'...  Hhmmmm...

I was searching the GMB for the maker of a glass polar bear I wish to place a bid on, and lo and behold, I found this thread.  It looks like someone does have a bit of a collection. :-X    And it's a lovely collection.
