Please could i have some help with this decanter, who its possibly made by , i cant work out the second letter on the base but have tried to photograph it .
Any help would be appriciated , its very heavy ,,,    the base reads something like bw9`63  or possibly BU as the first letters .

I wonder if it is a piece of Orrefors(although I would expect their mark somewhere)?  That would indicate it was designed by Gunnar Cyrén (his earlier works had a B designation, U = smooth ie. uncut glass or crystal, and presumably a pattern number of 9**. 

Sorry to be so vague.  Another thought is Kosta who had initials like that on some pieces - but again one expects the maker name to be there.

Thats great info thankyou , i had come across the posibilities online but really was clueless.
Do you have one the same then Johnphilip?   i just saw this for four pounds with the marked base and thought yippee it may be my day - in hope that it was worth a little more than four pound ,its really not my cup of tea but im sure ill display or use it . ;D
