SMALL METALIC GLITTER HIPPO
« on: June 13, 2010, 03:54:24 PM »
Hi All,

I have this little hippo made in a very dark blue/purple glass with a metalic glitter effect that I have not seen before. It sparkles in the light. It has letters on the base "MN" (or indeed, it could be "NW" if viewed the other way!). The base is also very smooth and polished.

Any ideas?  It is just 2.1/2" long and solid, therefore quite weighty for it's size.

Regards
Rosie

I can't enlighten you much, but I can tell you that the glass it's made from is called "blue goldstone".  It's a man made glass, not natural stone.  I believe your hippo is carved, rather than cast into it's shape.  I have similar animals that are much smaller. (less than 3/4")
