then you certainly can mix Polyfilla in it and not feel as though you have wasted a lot of money   only joking, I would think that most people would give you at least 2 or 3 quid for it, and as Christine has commented, it is a little unusual, and worth keeping.

i've had a few of these type of items too.  I like them as they remind me of the *older* years when Mothers made meals (in her apron) and people sat down at meals -- not driving through the McDonald's to grab supper on the run... (LOL) 

I just like to find (and give back) the identity of every piece of glass.  If I keep it - it has a name.....If I decide to sell it, then I know what it is.  I just like to give each piece (no matter what it is) its history back.  It was once a treasured piece in someone home.  If I find something for a small price, and it is worth more (as per ID, and info on the net) -- then I am happy. 

Like the saying goes "One Man trash, is an another's Treasure". I find that so true.

I have had some *similar items* with silver EPNS rims on them too.
