new acquisition - Query Caithness Stroma rose bowl?
« on: June 26, 2010, 01:12:14 PM »
Hi - Can anyone tell me if this is from the Stroma range? In daylight or halogen light it is a pinky purple colour (which doesn't photograph too well), and which changes surprisingly to a bluey green under fluorescent light . or if not Stroma does anyone know what it is?

it is 3 1/4 inches high and 4 inches wide

has Caithness etched to the base
I have searched the Scotlands glass website and the Stroma small rose bowl seems to fit shape and size? Just not sure of the colour - I have other Amethyst Caithness which is not the same as this colour - this is much more pink.  - and the colour change under fluoro or incandescent light amazes me - can anyone explain it for me? I thought I was imagining it when I first noticed it  :D

Thanks. JAK

See here http://www.mindspring.com/~reyne/neowhatsis.html

Almost certainly Stroma if the shape fits. A fair amount of Caithness was made in neodymium glass.
