Hi all
I picked this up recently, it reminded me of the Kosta blocks ive had by Erik Hoglund. I cant find anything the same as this one.
The block is 12cm by 12cm, at its thickest 3.5cm and weighs just over 1kg.
The base shows quite a bit of wear, on the parts which make contact with the suface.
The whole block is quite uneven. It has an impressed design of a Bison/Buffalo.
I cannot see any markings but there may possibly be something under the wear.
many thanks michelle

Not Boda but that image of a buffalo is vaguely ringing a bell, something to do with clothing. I wonder if the block was originally intended as a bit of advertising, maybe point of sale or....

Or maybe I am just missing my favourite voddy Żubrówka. ::)

I think the bison bears a lot of resemblance to prehistoric cave paintings - wonder if it might be not advertising, but a "commercial keepsake/souvenir" of visiting cave paintings?

I believe Whitefriars made pieces for The Royal Antediluvian Order of the Buffalos - this might be one of them.
oh, there is another thread on a different piece here

I have seen one more on a different site but that was also a bowl.
