Hi, My husband is a mad collector of anything that piques his interest and this morning at a garage sale he bought a glass vase, mumbling something about "monarch from Scotland", as I heard it. He researched the web (as soon as we came home) and I watched over his shoulder as he laboriously searched the ysart.com site. Naturally the $ signs piqued MY interest.
But is it dinkum? I just tag along, he has the eye.
The shape is similar to V006 and the colour similiar to your V001 or V008 on the page
http://www.ysartglass.com/Vascat/VasV001.htm It has the gold aventurine? specks through the blue/green upper half with 6-7 swirls pulled down through only the top part of the pale cream/white bottom half. The shape and pontile mark coincide with your site's Vasart designation, i.e. polished round rim, recessed and rough ground/cut pontile.
I'd love to send a photo but he's taken it to a local expert to discuss as he has no patience with this computer lark.
Has he got the genuine article? I'd love to tell him the good news. I have read through a lot of your forum and am curious. eBay is confusing as some have no bids while others are keenly followed.
Thank you for you informative and fascinating site.
Regards from Antipodean Perth
