Looking for a bottle forum...
« on: August 04, 2010, 08:12:44 PM »
I'm looking for a bottle forum that can help with IDs.

This bottle/jug/carafe? is one I can't find much on.   I think it's a Clevenger (US) repro of a Jenny Lind bottle in amber, but it's got a pitcher spout.  I can't find references online to these pitcher spouts....

Thanks, -Buck

I feel strongly your handled bottle is Clevenger Glass. I have seen that form
multible times. As for a bottle forum try Antique-bottles.net, there are lots of knowledgeable and helpful  people on the forum.

Thanks Glassgull.  Yes, not much question in my mind that it's Clevenger.  I just can't dig up the info on why this one has a spout top instead of a bottle top.  I know this was done with some bottles.  Just looking for details.   I'll check out A-B.net.

Buck,
I went through some of my information on Clevenger glass. In a copy of
descriptions of Clevenger glass types there is an example of your bottle.
I will try to post a picture. Greg

I have full permission from owner of photos to post.
I also talked to him (the owner) this evening. He
is a authority on Clevenger glass.

I think you miss the point Greg; the question was not about the copyright of the photos but the copyright of the printed info therein. They appear to be printouts of scans, but if the original is still in copyright, it is not allowed to be published in any form in the public domain.
