Desna? Murano? small facetted ashtray alexandrite/neodymium
« on: August 06, 2010, 09:17:11 PM »
I've not been able to confirm that this is Desna. I can't find the shape or the size on the current site. Any help would be very much appreciated.  It isn't marked but from reading their site it seems it's only since 2007 that their items have been marked?
It is 4"(10cm) diagonally, each side is just under 7.5cm and height is just under 4cm and it is neodymium.
It is beautifully made with each cut edge being bevelled. Or...could it be Murano perhaps?
many thanks for your thoughts.

I have two different Neodymium pieces - one very like yours and a decanter that I bought 30 years ago new complete with a "Bohemia Crystal" label.

HOWEVER, both of my pieces turn pale BLUE under flourescent light so perhaps yours comes from a different area - hopefully someone else will be able to tell us.

either Desna or Moser - if Moser (the ultimate in cutting quality) it should be marked. The mark is often VERY vague, relatiely large and on the bottom.

What about ZBS? Is that not a possibility? At least for the ashtray

thank you all,
for some reason I have an old link to Desna and I managed to find it (I think) on that one ::) not sure how I missed it last time - for future ref for anyone the code is 26197-00-075.  That is a clear version and I couldn't find any reference to a neodymium version but I presume it must be a special.
