It was indeed!

bOBA, Italians in scotland tend to make ice-cream more often than glass,  :-\
(Franco Toffolo has retired completely and moved to england, though I would not have put this piece beyond him - he could be very......... exuberant sometimes!)

The Ysarts were Spanish.

Robert,

Why spend three hours with a paint brush when you can photoshop it in two minutes? Look at the photo closely. (Only joking, Sue!)

I thought it was good example of companies breaking away from what you expect of them. This just doesn't look like Chalet. I'd guess it's later Chalet when they were trying to find a different market. Here's another example of Chalet trying something different.

Pina has a picture of this piece in Fifties Glass, btw.

Thanks to everyone for the humour and intelligent guessing. Now I'm off to find a piece from Papua New Guinea for Robert.

Sue:

You're absolutely right, again. I never saw Rose's post for some reason, but she is the clear winner. Thank goodness I didn't stretch out the contest longer. The person selling the fazzoletto on eBay has a few pieces in the Chalet exhibition I wrote about in the glass cafe.

I paid nowhere near $350 for my piece, just in case anyone doubted my Scottish thriftiness, or sanity.

Congratulations, Rose.

Gee, I had even guessed Lorraine quite a few posts ago too...then I thought.....Gee, I wonder IF it had something to do with YOUR LOCATION as in Profile.  I did not think at first it did -- but then I was wondering if the name Fazzoletto WAS to throw us off....then also YOUR location...and just how much have your Location in your Post Does Help.

YIPEE>>>>.....>>>>>>>>>.........>>>>>>>>    :phew: too much running around being excited here   LOL
