Could anyone id these bark effect charcoal goblets please
« on: September 15, 2010, 07:30:37 PM »
Hi, thanks for everyones help upto now! One more for all you experts to look at. They are a shade of grey and they appear to be moulded as they have two parallel lines running down the glass. They do not continue onto the base though. The base has a look as if it was blown and polished. Each glass is 11cm tall. I only got chance to take one photo then my camera packed up. Hope Ive described them well enough. Cheers

The texture looks a little bit like Ravenhead "Nevada", but this is NOT what they are - the rim is different, (Nevada has a rounded feature around it) the shape of the base of the bowl is different (Nevada is flat) and the stem is too short. Nevada is also slightly flared in shape, not upright like this.
So that can be discounted...... it's a start!

A plain white background would help determine the colour better please. Coloured backgrounds for coloured glass rarely work.

It doesn't seem to be from any of these ranges either:

There must have been lots of factories making similar patterns though.

My standard answer would be Empoli. It is quite a safe bet, really.... :ooh:

 :24: Ivo!

Seriously, an indication of your location on the planet might help.
As seen in the link Cathy gave us, there are a lot of american possibilities as well as several european.
I have to confess to a small interest in textured, mould blown glasses myself.
Give me these over transfer prints any day!
