'wavy-rimmed' greenish glass vase for id

<< < (3/4) > >>

Paul S.:
uhmmm....thanks for the pics. and there is certainly a strong resemblance to No. 9363, which is shown with a height of 5.5 inches.  I have rechecked my vase, but can't stretch the height to any more than the figure I gave initially - I don't know what leeway there might have been in the original data, so perhaps it was give or take a bit.   My piece would also appear to have a greater 'waviness' than the piece in your link - although when you look at the line drawings in your link, it seems different again.   Certainly there seems a strong similarity, and if the original pieces did have tolerances in certain areas, then yes I could be persuaded.    What colour are your pics. representing, and what date was that catalogue?    Thanks your help by the way - it's yours for seventy four pounds nineteen shillings and fourpence threefarthings plus purchase tax. :)

vidrioguapo:
The catalogue is 1960 ( to be found on www.whitefriars.org) ............the colour for this as per catalogue should be Ocean Green.............yours looks more like Sea Green to me from the photograph, but it was a time of change over in colours (1960), and you will see from the link I gave you they have been crossed out (meaning discontinued), so it is possible (if indeed this is the right vase) that it was also in the 1959 cat, in which case it would have been Sea Green. So far no cats available for 1958 and 1959.  The height would likely be OK, there's hardly a difference and within reasonable tolerances I should say.

Thanks for your most generous offer, but will pass on this occasion! :kissy:

What Ho! This might be of help, I think Emmi is correct but I think it is Ocean Green. Wuidart is out as it is not a Wuidart colour.

Ive attached a pic from the photo album and a pic from my copy of the '60 catalogue. Wolfie

Paul S.:
thanks Wolfie  -  have to say that apart from the blindingly obvious designs, I'm rather green (no pun intended) re these non Baxter pieces.
Apart from the colour - about which I know Emmi is much respected - I am not very well up on these pale sea green/willow type shades.   But I was more unsure about the 'waviness' or otherwise of the top of my piece.   Sometimes, looking at the W/Fs catalogue pics. I get left a bit confused.    So - are you saying that you feel my vase is almost certainly W/Fs, and that you believe the colour is Ocean Green?     thanks         Paul S.
