Clear with Brown Spots Hat Vase - Chinese ??
« on: September 28, 2010, 01:23:03 AM »
:hi: is this  :or: ?  I have a funny feeling it is.  Looks like a Hat vase with Brown Spots in it.  It is about 6 inches tall, and 9 inches wide.  Very large pontil scar.   The bottom does show some wear, so I guess (or am thinking) this might be a Chinese Piece from the 80's maybe --   or not ?

Surprising me with something else ----> would be a  :o

Don't assume everything is Chinese Rose. This looks much more like a piece from a small studio, so could well be Canadian. Just enjoy it.

Rose  -  just to say that I have looked through both of the Pina volumes and Bill Geary's book, and can't see an exact match.  Surprised me though, there are one or two Scandi outputs that have this 'spotty/blobby' sort of colourway, and I wouldn't dismiss it as being from that part of the world rather than the orient.    Sorry it's not really of any help though. :)

Thanks for looking -- I am hoping  :X: it is something more than  :or: .  I will see if I can find anything *spotty/blobby* in Scandi here......a road I have not yet taken on this piece.  Every bit of info is a possible lead.  Very large pontil scar....???  Is that normal ??

thanks
