Aw, shucks, ma'am. I ain't got no accent.

I found a Ji Co vase similar to yours on Shandiane's Blanco Glass site (http://gallery.blancoglass.com), but the foot was wrong and the JI Co's rim was scissor cut in two places. It did make me think that there is a possibility yours is Murano.

LOL......eh?

So what is the verdict on this link that TxSilver posted -- that looks like it has the same vase, exactly...
http://home.earthlink.net/~verredart5/glass/JIP.html

What the consequences to that link.....as to Murano.

Those JI.Co seem very similar.....as an influence.  Oh I hope it turns out good  :X:

That site is generally more reliable.

But, I'm afraid, the bit on the second site, looks quite superior to yours, Rose. The colours are worked in in a far more delicate way and the rim is a completely different shape. It's a lot less blobby than yours.

The jury is still out.

I am just trying to get the ID of this vase, and those were the only sites found (so far) with something close......be interesting if the ID can be figured out on this.  Whether Murano,  :or:, or EVEN some other glass maker.....as that could still be a possibility...Can't it?

I still think it is made quite well, and does have wear on the bottom....so it has to have some age to it.......Maybe some maker that we have not thought about yet ??

Just bumping for Rose :).

Anita, the JI import pieces on Shandiane's site seem to indicate that JI imports tended to be fairly cheap and cheerful - would that be right?

JI Co imported good and bad glass, Cathy, but it was all reasonably priced. Most of the JI Co glass I've held has been good quality. It feels and looks good. Vases that look similar to Rose's are in this good group. JI Co also imported glass that wasn't so good. The other day I ran into a piece that was just about as junky feeling as the bad stuff from China. It was one of JI Co's bird bowls. It was hard to believe that it was Murano and imported by the same company.

Hi there-

I tried this ----> I put mine on the screen with a split screen from the other one on the  site of http://home.earthlink.net/~verredart5/glass/JIP.html   and to me they look pretty close.

Also...I might try taking some other pics, as my pics might not be a *bright* as the one from that link -- nor my camera might not be as high as quality (cheaper digital camera) than that one.   One more thing....I think my camera in NOT set on the highest standard for pics, as I do not need to take them that big (re: for an really clear image on a site).

So I might try some more photos --- but (might) the quality of camera, and the size of the pic (pixels) taken make the pic look a bit different?

That is why I tried it with a Split Screen on my Screen with both -- so that I could compare them side by each....

What the view IF you try this??

In the meantime, I will try some brighter pics, and larges pixels when I take the pic -- just to see IF it makes any difference in it at all...

Just thinking out loud here.... :-\   :spls:
