Chunky, heavy........and Vibrant PINK !!
« on: October 28, 2010, 04:37:38 AM »
:hi:   I just got this from a friend that decided to part with it, and knew I like glass.  Hope I got a OK deal.

It is about 4.5 inches tall, 6.5 inches wide (diagonally), and measuring across squarely -- it is 5 inches wide.  I was not sure which way to measure this (just across, or diagonally too).  Anyways, you have all the measurements.  It is chunky, heavy.....and vibrant Pink. .  It is square, but has heavy clear lobes on each corner, so tried to get all angles. The bottom (IMHO) seems to show quite a bit of wear.....so I hope it has some age to it  :X:

Now I am positive this is Not Chalet as I have never seen Pink Chalet (but maybe it does exist ?? ).....LOL  Pretty sure that this is not Murano either, so that leaves me wondering if it might be Czech  or some other Country as it seems to be made very well.  I really like having a Pink glass Bowl, (or ashtray ??).

It kinda reminds me of those Pink colored Ribbons for *Breast Cancer*.  Kinda a Girlie, Girl piece of glass....I think it looks like. I like it

Any ideas on age/maker/year/etc?  Thanks as always  :kissy:

I have three of these and they looked so Chribska to me that I never bothered to post them here... they come in  various vibrant colours (yellow, pink, blue, green, etc). They're not all that rare around here and all of them differ slightly in shape, probably have been made over a long period of time.

:kissy: Thank you all..... I think your right, as I have googled that and found these links now.

http://www.20thcenturyglass.com/glass_encyclopedia/bohemian_glass/chribskaglass_home.htm
(7 rows down, first one -- but in Blue -- I think that is the same as mine)

as per Astrid own pics, looks the same:

So I think that is a confirmation for the ID.

What year/pattern would this have been?  anyone know that info?

Thanks  :hiclp: :kissy:
