Topic: Large marigold carnival glass bowl, id needed! ID = Eda Glasbruk, BOWMAN

Hi all,
OK, here we go once again - I stumbled across a nice large glass bowl, that I could not identify. Below are some photos, but I have some additional details that might help identifying this bowl.

- outside top diameter is app. 26,5 - 28 centimeters
- bottom (foot) diameter is app. 11 centimeters
- height is app. 8,5 - 9 centimeters
- all patterns and details are on the outside surface, the bowl inside is plain.
- it seems, that the glass has quite a number of bubbles stuck inside. Sign of old and/or poor quality process maybe? On the other hand, the 'metallic' marigold surface is superb and incredibly colorful.

The bowl is from Eda Glasbruk in Sweden - the pattern is called BOWMAN (that is the original Eda name given in their catalogues). Date in Carnival was the late 1920s. The item is shown in Eda's 1929 catalogue.

The pattern is very similar to Brockwitz "London" design, as Pamela noted (by the way, that pattern is called "Nutmeg Grater" by Carnival collectors). However, there is an extra design element in Bowman that can be seen on the bowl shown in this thread - that is the row of notches both above and below the wide diamond band. That details shows it to be Eda's Bowman. It's most unusual to find a bowl from Eda in the UK, unless it has been brought here by a collector.
