WHITEFRIARS GLASS TILES .......
(1/1)
Patrick:
Hi, Some of you may be interested in this posting on Whitefriars.com.

The Tiles look incredibly beautifull but very expensive....
Regards Patrick.
Max:
Amazing Patrick. Going from the site on Voysey it would seem (as you pointed out) that there isn't a record found in the Whitefriars archives as yet.
It seems a bit odd to be charging $25 for the tiles history...you'd have thought the seller would have made that history public, and THEN sold the tiles...hmmm, odd isn't it?
Max, or Gina on WF.com
Anne:
I found another person apparently selling the same items, and the border tiles which aren't mentioned in the eBay sale, here on the notes page and scroll down to the heading shown... VOYSEY IN AMERICA: AN ARTS & CRAFTS FLOOR TILE DISCOVERY
This part of the above page
--- Quote ---... the design was called "the Roumanian pattern." It was offered in colors other than the peacock blue illustrated including "ruby."
--- End quote ---
contrasts with the eBay sale description somewhat...
--- Quote ---These tiles are extremely rare and possibly the only ones like them in the world.

Patrick:
Hi Anne, MANY THANKS for this futher information.... I have copied your message to the other forum.... Did you see that there were 670 field tiles recovered !!!!!!
Regars Patrick...
Anne:
Hi Patrick, yes I did, which makes me wonder how rare these are, and if they will appear on eBay regularly as rare and possibly the only ones in the world. I wonder how many of the other coloured ones survived as well?
