It is Kralik for sure, and a fabulous example.... A little different from any I have seen..... I really really really like it!!
I am posting an image shown on the picassa links, as I have the entire library on CD, and the owners permission to use them on the internet. I would mention that although some of the libraries he has posted on line are correctly attributed, some are not and should not always be taken as accurate. This particular group are all correct.
The decor has been classified as "Seaweed", and will appear as such on our website. Examples in a uranium ground are quite unusual. I am attaching the other example from Picasa in the same decor, which is a shape that is a marker for Kralik production. Your example has a little different decor at the foot which I have not seen before.
I am also attaching an image of several Kralik Milifiori and the shape is the same.... The pink canes are a Kralik marker in Czech production. So we can link this piece though both decor and shape.....
Keith, Both Kralik and Welz are now known to have made what many people call "knuckle" or "face" vases..... there are subtleties in the different shapes they made, and I am finding that in some cases, decor is the key to attribution..... Kralik made more of the pieces in this shape family..... but Welz seems to have made a surprising number also.... many that in the past have been attributed to Kralik that are not....
And as usual, Christine, may I use your images??
