Strange "chemist like" carafe - ID = a porrón
« on: October 24, 2010, 03:11:08 PM »
I was browsing the sight a few nights ago and a few images stuck in my mind. There was a link with a photo of a glass maker and his pieces. The man looked in his 40's maybe and had a beard and was surround by these clear glass objects. The next day i was in my local charity shop and saw what i thought was one of his pieces. It is 16.5cm at it tallest part and the base is 9.5cm wide with a ruff pontil. Any help?
Oh yes and the bottle seems to be ribbed!

It looks like a piece of tourist tat from Spain, for pouring sangria down the necks of (soon to be) drunken fools (guess who doesn't drink much). :wsh:
