:sun: maybe if the wish lists were a little more specific, results may come , this 1 is only 3 1/2 cm tall and took up very little space in Santa's sack  ;D

cheers ,
            Peter.

Thomas - where does this gem of a 'jug' reside............Corning,... V & A....Vatican.....St. Petersburg......The Getty...............wherever it is, I just know they don't appreciate it as much as you would.  ;)    Pity I don't believe in fairies.........anyway, I think all this talk of aged men in long white beards bringing good things is utterly, utterly stupid......and grown men/wimmin to boot.........you'd never catch me talking like that.   Mind you I could sit on his knee, and he could put his arm around me and comfort me................then I might beleive......sounds a bit like a sob sister....................someone who sits on you knee, cries, and make it hard for you :wsh:

Yes Yes Thomas  we know it is on your list  , and i am sure we would all let you have it if possible , but the question was, in the post above,

where does this gem of a 'jug' reside............Corning,... V & A....Vatican.....St. Petersburg......The Getty...............wherever it is, I just know they don't appreciate it as much as you would ,

I remember when it first came up for auction, Hee hee it was all a bit funny really , with the auctioneer stopping the auction to ask if the bids were serious , around £100,000  I think ,reassured he carried on to the final £220.000 or so , then all H--- broke loose, for the auctioneers not to have done at least a little research before the sale seems mind boggling(what do they get commission for ?), it being described as late 19thc with metal and paste mounts !"!!!!!!, anyway as you can see from the article ,when all the dust had settled and many folks pacified, it was resold .

But to whom ?? and were??

Cheers ,
            Peter.

i know what you mean - actually i wouldn´t have bought it for 220.000 or 100.000 BP ...if it would have been up for auction on ebay - surely it would realized it but maybe it would have brought a couple of thousand dollars not more,, i suppose

anyway - i heard that it is in arabic emirates now ! :ra:

but only till christmas because then .... :bat:
