It actually doesn't glow at all, but I'm still pretty pleased with my $5 thrift store find.

Well,

in my humble opinion: it is definitely not Theresienthal.
Although it is now to be sold on ebay as Theresienthal. http://cgi.ebay.de/Antique-Art-Glass-Theresienthal-Decanter-/170559873711
Am i right: Found for 5$ and to be sold for minimum 279$ ??? :hiclp:
Please notice: Not every vessel with prunts was made by Theresienthal!

Kind regards

Stephan

Ehrenfeld, Oberglas, Poschinger, Heckert - take your pick.

I have no problem changing the listing.  It certainly seemed that Theresienthal was the consensus here at the time I listed it.  Note that I did not suggest such an attribution at all at the time I first posted here.  Please also note that the price paid for an item is not in the least a determinate of the price asked for it upon sale.  Anything in your collection you would not sell for 10 or 20 times what you paid for it?  If you wish to purchase the decanter, you are certainly free to make an offer.

Thank you for your comments.
Ken

There are loads of things in my collection I would not part with for 100 times the price I paid.

i am defintely sure that i bought a few items for too much - but then - years later - i think they are cheap at the todays point of view .. !
but anyway its not about the money - collecting is fun - research is fun - to clean them and use them and in the evening with a cigarette and a glass of wine just to sit down and watch them ! and we all know that we canĀ“t take anything with us on our last day.. !
so : carpe diem  :rah:

I am at an age  that I have accumulated so much, I can't keep anything new unless something else leaves.  I told my wife that I was going to price this decanter high.  If it doesn't sell. I will keep it and get rid of something else.  She gave me an evil look and said, "What are you going to get rid of?"  I didn't have an answer - yet.
